Chairman & CEO

Jeffrey Herzog is a digital visionary, having established the search marketing industry before Google was Google. As one of the most influential leaders in digital marketing, Herzog has inspired hundreds of team members and clients alike —including more than 75 of the Fortune 500. Throughout his career, Herzog’s companies have been the go-to teams for their culture, energy and focus on results.

Herzog’s first start up, iCrossing, was built from scratch into a global company with 17 offices and over $140M in annual revenue before being acquired by Hearst Magazines in 2010 for $450M, including a $125M earn-out. Herzog also acquired numerous companies both nationally and internationally including NewGate Internet (San Francisco), Proxicom (VA), Spannerworks (UK) and 3G Net (Munich). Herzog raised over $100M in venture capital from firms including RRE Ventures, OAK Investment Partners, Generation Partners and Goldman Sachs.

Board Member

Jon Kaiden is the Founder, Chairman and a Managing Partner of Baleon Capital.  Jon has more than 20 years of experience as an investor in high growth business and has a domain expertise in marketing tech and research technology.​

Jon has been investing in marketing technology since the early 2000s and was an early investor in iCrossing (acquired by Hearst), was the first institutional investor in Lucid (acquired by Cint), and has invested in several other companies that are driving the confluence of technology, analytics and marketing/communications.  

He has made over 40 direct private equity investments and has served on numerous boards, currently serving on the boards of Shadowbox, Slick, Avenue Z, Clearstep, HealPros, and Lifelink Systems.  Previous board positions include iCrossing (acquired by Hearst), Planet Payment (NASDAQ: PLPM, acquired by Fintrax Group), SRS Software (Thoma Bravo), Mountain Temp Services (NewSpring Capital), Healthcare Data Solutions (acquired by IQVIA), Lucid (acquired by CINT), Medical Scribe Systems (acquired by Scribe America), Quovant (acquired by MitroTech), Turning Point (Summit Partners), Anyone Home (acquired by Inhabit IQ), Click Notices (acquired by Hunter Warfield), HealPros and Signallamp.

Prior to Baleon Capital, Jon served as President and founding member of a New York-based venture capital firm Sopris Capital, which he led for 17 years. Prior to Sopris Capital, he was an investment banker and securities attorney focusing on corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions. Jon received his BA from Cornell University, his JD from Brooklyn Law School, and his MBA from Columbia Business School.

Board Member

Shane Kim is a Managing Partner of Baleon Capital. He has over 20 years of experience as a growth equity investor, board member and trusted advisor to numerous companies at the early growth stage.

Shane serves on the boards of Shadowbox, Slick, Avenue Z, and Fingercheck.  Previous board positions include Bluefin Payments, Ingo Money, Masterplan (acquired by Berkshire Partners), New Horizons (acquired), Planet Payment (NASDAQ: PLPM, Lead Independent Director; acquired by Fintrax Group), Santa Rosa Holdings, Vantage Oncology (acquired by McKesson), and Viventium Software (Acquired by LLR Partners).

Shane began his investment career at Camden Partners, a growth equity firm he joined in 1999 as an Analyst. He became a Partner and Managing Member in 2007 and during his 17-year tenure, he participated in 22 transactions, 11 of which he led or co-led.

Prior to Baleon Capital, Shane co-founded Island Peak Capital, an advisory firm focused on optimizing growth through a proven operating approach.  Shane graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Finance and Management Science and Statistics.

Board Member & Finance Committee Chair

As a Board Member and Chair of the Finance Committee, Mike is responsible for assisting the Board of Directors in establishing financial goals and objectives, review and approval of the annual budget to present to the full board, establish and manage funding strategies and  fulfilling the Company’s oversight responsibilities with respect to monitoring and oversight of the Corporation’s financial resources including its capital management. His career spans more than 25 years of varied experience in financial management, business leadership, mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy. Throughout his career he has completed over 30 acquisitions and led and completed capital and debt raises of over $400M.

Mike holds an MBA in Finance and a BBA in Accounting from Hofstra University. He is a CPA and since 1999 has served on the Board and chairs the audit and compensation committees of Manhattan Bridge Capital, a publicly traded REIT.
