The Challenge
KYU needed to move beyond traditional hospitality marketing metrics and directly measure how digital investment translated into real, seated guest revenue.
Leadership needed clarity on three key questions:
- Could paid media reliably drive confirmed seated guests—not just reservations?
- Could cancellations and no-shows be excluded from reporting?
- Could marketing spend be scaled confidently based on verified financial performance?
Without closed-loop attribution, marketing performance lacked a direct connection to in-restaurant revenue.
The Approach
Avenue Z implemented a full-funnel performance and retention system linking acquisition, attribution, creative strategy, and lifecycle marketing.
Key initiatives included:
- Closed-Loop Revenue Attribution: Paid media exposure was directly tied to confirmed seated guests using reservation tracking infrastructure. Only completed visits were included, establishing revenue as the primary performance metric.
- Creative and Performance Optimization: Avenue Z consulted on creative strategy and campaign structure to maximize reservation conversion efficiency and improve acquisition performance across markets.
- Retention and Lifecycle Systems: Email and SMS infrastructure was implemented to convert first-time diners into repeat guests, increasing visit frequency and long-term revenue impact.
- Multi-Market Deployment: The performance framework was deployed across KYU’s Miami, New York, and Las Vegas locations.

Turning First-Time Guests Into Long-Term Revenue
Beyond acquisition, Avenue Z implemented retention systems designed to increase repeat visit behavior and lifetime guest value.
Repeat guest rates increased significantly during the engagement:
- Miami repeat guest rate increased from 20% to 37%
- New York repeat guest rate increased from 25% to 33%
- Las Vegas repeat guest rate increased from 7% to 14%
This ensured that revenue extended well beyond initial acquisition, turning first-time diners into repeat customers and strengthening long-term restaurant performance.

KYU’s Miami location generated over $888K in directly attributed seated guest revenue during the campaign period.
By linking media investment to confirmed seated guests, Avenue Z transformed paid media into a scalable, predictable guest acquisition channel. Improvements in retention further expanded long-term revenue impact by increasing repeat visit frequency.


New York Generates Over $650K in Measurable Guest Revenue
KYU’s New York location generated more than $654K in attributed seated guest revenue, demonstrating the scalability of the performance model across major markets.
With closed-loop attribution and retention systems in place, paid media became a reliable and measurable revenue driver supporting sustained growth.
Building a Retention Engine Through Email and SMS
Avenue Z implemented lifecycle marketing infrastructure integrated directly with reservation tracking, creating a direct communication channel with guests.
Results included:
- $37,801 in attributed email revenue
- $1,682 in attributed SMS revenue
- SMS subscriber list grew from 0 to 1,517 guests in 4 months
